Users Manual

Installation
Installing and running Doorways Professional v4.3 on your Ti83+ is quick and easy. Just follow these simple steps:

1) Clear your calculator's memory
2) Send the group file to your Ti83+
3) Run the program prgmA
4) Enjoy Doorways.

Using Doorways

The Doorways Professional v4.3 Desktop

Pictured above is the standard layout of the Doorways Graphical User Interface, or GUI.  The up and down arrow keys used to control the cursor (the > arrow along the left side).  Across the top is the title bar, which displays the version of Doorways you are using, as well as RAM available.  Left justified ascending under the title bar is a list of Doorways programs you have installed on your calculator.  If you move the cursor next to the name of a program, we say that the program is "selected."  If you press the delete [DEL] button at any time while in Doorways, the selected program will be deleted from Doorways and from your calculator's memory.  Across the bottom on the screen is the Doorways Menu.

Across the bottom on the screen is the Doorways Menu.  The menu consists of 5 rectangles which subsequently correspond with the 5 function keys ([Y=],[WINDOW],[ZOOM],[TRACE],[GRAPH]) at the top of the calculator's keypad.  Below is a list of each menu function.

Building the Desktop
The first time you run Doorways, when you add a new program, or when you delete a program from your calc, Doorways must rebuild the desktop. This can take up to thirty seconds.  Do not abort the process or you can cause damage to your system. Don't worry, after Doorways has built your desktop, loading time will be reduced back down to under a second.

Installing Doorways Programs and Games
Doorways Professional v4.3 is compatible with all Doorways Advanced/Doorways Lite/Doorways 2004 software.  To install a program, simply send it to your calculator and then load Doorways like normal.  The program will be automatically installed.  Please note, you cannot install more then one program at a time, so send Doorways programs to your calculator one at a time!

Installing non-Doorways Programs and Games
In addition to Doorways specific programs, you may also wish to add other Basic or ASM programs to your desktop that were not specifically made for Doorways.  To do this, follow these steps:

1) At the desktop, press the [WINDOW] Key
2) Enter the programs prgm name (ex. "NAMENINE" for "prgmNAMENINE")
3) Enter a Doorways namestring for the program (ex. "NAME THAT NINE")

After you complete the above steps, your desktop will rebuild and your program will be ready to run from your desktop.

Program Information

The Doorways 2004 Beta Menu

Pressing the [ZOOM] key at the desktop will bring you do a window similar to what is pictured above.  This well tell you the TiOS name, Doorways name, and display the Doorways icon (if there is one) for the selected program.

Deleting programs from the desktop
In order to delete a program from your calculator, just point the cursor to it and push the [DEL] button on your calculator.  Beware, once you delete the program, it's gone from your calc for good!

Advanced APD
Advanced APD is now standard with Doorways Professional. If you leave your calculator at the desktop inactive for around 4-5 minutes, it will automatically shut down to help save your batteries.

Version Identification
For Doorways Update compatibility, Doorways Professional now has Version Identification.  Pressing the number '6' at any time from the desktop will bring up the version identification screen.
