*About*

This game is a clone of the original Avalanche by Harper. Of course, I put my own little twists in the game to put my own mark on the game :) This is my own original code -- I copied nothing from the source of Avalanche. I wrote it just to see if I could, and because I love Avalanche! I made a couple changes from the original and renamed the game to "Hardcore Avalanche" because it's a bit harder than the original. First, the fastest setting in my version is insane -- I dare you to get a decent highscore in it :) Sprites are slightly bigger, making icicles just a bit harder to dodge. There is no "warning droplet", you rely on your reflexes alone to survive! There are 9 speeds ranging from ungodly fast (speed 1) to ungodly slow (speed 9). Also, my icicle graphic is cooler-looking :)

*How to play*
*************

Select your speed at the menu using the up and down arrow keys.
Dodge the icicles and stay alive as long as possible. Use left and right arrow keys to move your character. Pressing CLEAR will quit mid-game to the title screen.

*The sourcecode*
****************

I have included the source code for all to view and learn from. It is NOT for you to change the graphics and re-compile it claiming it for your own. I am greatly irritated by such practices and I pity the losers who think they must do it.

This is my first assembly game that I am releasing, so don't laugh at my source code -- if you see something you think HAS to optimized just tell me :)

*Thanks To*

Harper Maddox - For making the original avalanch!

Joel Seligstein - He took a hour (or two? three? I forget..) out of his day to help me crunch my crappy unoptimized code down to 748 bytes. Thanks! He also answered a lot of my assembly questions.

Joe Flint - For answering all my crazy questions and kick-starting me into Asm!

Joe Wingbermuehle - Without ION I would probably still be staring at AsmGuru wondering how to make a game.

The people of the Maxcoders board - They happily answer my questions when Joe's not around :)

Everyone at TI World - For keeping TI World alive.
